In Spring 2020, Bryan Wong and myself Brian Kwan will embark on an journey from Mackay QLD to Darwin NT in the Shitbox Rally. To complete this trek we are to purchase a vehicle worth only $1000 or less and drive through some of the harshest environments Australia has to offer over 7 days along with 500 other participants.
In order for us to qualify for the rally, we have set a target of $5000 (hopefully more) to be raised between us. Your donations will go towards the Cancer Council of Australia, whom have done some of the greatest work in our country and is the only charity in Australia to work across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. Their mission is to help people from the point of diagnosis through to treatment and survivorship.
The Shitbox Rally is an awesome event that has been running for 11 years and raised over $22,000,000 since. So for this year they have put a total target of $2,000,000 plus for the Cancer Council. It is a staggering amount but with the rally, they seem to get it done every year with interest!
So, be part of this great cause to help others and assist us to become part of this adventure. It will surely be a test for both ourselves and the vehicle as we trek it through the outback!
Team - Just Send It
Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, over a 7 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.
Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
Almost $24 million has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:
These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
